Welcome to the Mindful Kids community!
We are an organization, a calling, and a movement, on the forefront of the social emotional awakening.

Here you will find resources to support parents, grandparents, caregivers, teachers, educators, coaches, therapists, counselors, anyone who works with children or teens, formally or informally.

Our focus is on guiding children in their relationship with themselves. emphasizing the freedom inner connection brings. In our world, children are inundated with the message that what they want, need, and seek, is outside of them. The practices we teach remind children the truth - their power comes from within, not out. Navigating our inner and outer landscapes is an integral piece of learning how to thrive in the world. This is what it means to be a mindful kid. Welcome, friend.

Mindful Kids was founded in April, 2016 by Heather Hawk Feinberg, a counselor, educator, author, and mother who saw a deep need for more tools to support children in discovering their voices, accessing their power, and most importantly connecting to their innate knowing.

COMMUNITY organisations

We offer help to Schools & Organisations who wish to incorporate mindfulness practices into their daily process.

All children deserve and require opportunities to have their intuition and unique knowing acknowledged, valued, and supported. Our children may have small (er) bodies but they are by no means small (er) beings. Their vision and perspective is profound. They have a great deal to teach us and in order for their lights to shine brightest, they need tools to help them navigate in this ever-changing and at times contradictory and heavy world.

We have a vision to serve and support ALL CHILDREN  by creating, sharing, and teaching tools that will connect them to:

                      their truest selves,

                                their clearest voices,

                                                   their deepest knowing,

                                                              their highest paths,

                                                                        their gracious hearts,

                                                                                  and their divine essence.

The Mindful Kids mission is to create spaces, tools and opportunities for our

children and the adults in their care to cultivate, nurture and enrich a conscious relationship to their inner minds and to the entirety of their beings so that they may live a life of freedom and joy, following their unique voices, power and truth.

Many children being born and living in this time are highly sensitive beings who will seek out and thrive from learning tools that will assist them in understanding, accessing, and creating the world around them through all their senses, but particularly through their sixth sense, their inner knowing. For many it is essential to their survival. They must learn to consciously embody their knowing.

These specialized learners need new tools, new paradigms, new terrain, new concepts, and new possibilities. They need adults to lead them who can provide a lens with which to see the world as it truly is, to see themselves as they truly are, and to guide them as they create life beyond our wildest imaginations.

All children deserve and require opportunities
to have their intuition and unique knowing acknowledged, valued, and supported.

At Mindful Kids it is our intention to provide many "tools" for children to BE in the world in a deep, authentic, and powerful way.

The way they were meant to be here. Their way.

The more we can give space to these big spirits in little bodies the more THEM they can be.

It might seem that would take little effort on our part, but that's not the case at all, is it?  It actually takes a great deal of work to unlearn many of the things we were taught about what it means to be a parent, a teacher, a leader, a coach, a counselor.

It takes choosing to see with clear, conscious eyes,

in order to create a vision of what and why we are doing what we are doing.

It takes courage and bravery

to step out of the molds, stories, shoulds, or shames.

It takes passion and patience

to pause and not react instinctually until we have trained our instincts to be aligned with our highest selves.

This takes individuals who are grounded, connected, and present.

This takes people willing to live on purpose,

in each moment with each breath, each thought, each action, with all of themselves.

That is so big, right? And so inspiring.

And it takes discipline, learning, questioning and willingness

to step out into unknown territory.

This is where Mindful Kids comes in.

This is what we would like to offer our children, to offer all children.

It is in this way that what we teach also benefits and enriches the adults who guide our children.

So, this is your invitation...

Share these tools with your children (and the children in your care) but let it not be lost on you how important modeling the tools is for them. Guide them and all the while be guiding you.

As you serve them, let your service shine a light on who you are, so that you may see yourself more clearly and so too, the world. And as your light shines, it will remind all those with whom you come in contact, of their own.

One by one, we light up the world with love.

Our founder, Heather Feinberg, was born in Santa Monica California and called the beaches of Venice her playground for the first four years of her life. Since then, she has lived in California, Colorado, and many other states in the U.S. and even abroad. One of her favorites was the year she and her family lived in Israel when she was thirteen.

Heather has been an educator for twenty years and a counselor for ten years, but it was her exploration and learning in the world of energetic and intuitive arts which formally began eight years ago, where she was awakened to a level of healing and freedom that was both familiar and profoundly life-changing. She immediately began integrating what she was learning into her work with teens and young adults in the non-profit organizations where she was working and in her private counseling practice.

In 2011, she began her journey into motherhood, which has been the most transformative experience of all. Seeing the world through this new lens, her path began to change and she felt called to work with kids, parents, teachers, counselors and anyone who helps guide our children in brand new ways.

And this is how Mindful Kids was born...

Heather is a transformational leader.  Her work is focused and grounded in developing and creating tools for transformation in all aspects of life. It is an integration of information she gathered in the worlds of counseling, healing, meditation, and intuitive and energetic arts. It is guided by the concepts of energy and somatic psychology, sensory development and integration, and spiritual and universal laws.

Heather has a B.A. in Anthropology, and an M.A. in Counseling and Human Services from The Univeristy of Colorado. She held a license as a professional counselor (LPC) in the state of Colorado. She trained extensively at the Inner Connection Institute in Denver, Colorado and is a devoted student of A Course In Miracles. Heather is a student of the world and is here to teach and to learn. She lives in Austin,TX with her husband, daughter, and their amazing dog, Luna B.

Mindful Kids is honored to have these individuals on our board of directors.

Their guidance, care, expertise and energy holds and nurtures this vital organization. From mental health, business, and health professionals to educators, parents, energy workers, and children, our board intends to encompass all the voices and minds of our changing and evolving world.

Erica is the mom of two young boys, who are the light of her life. She works as an assistant guide at a local Montessori school in Austin, inspiring children each day with her grace and compassion. Erica is a writer, musician, and massage therapist. One of her early memories is asking her dad if the meaning of life was "to become a better person." What that means to Erica is to always be striving toward a level of mindful living that involves real connection with others, and a way of moving through life that helps to create peace and good will in the world around her.

Deborah Feinberg

Deborah has been an educator, formally and informally, for over 40 years. She truly embodies the word "teacher." She began her professional career teaching in New Jersey public schools, and has since worked with children and adults in many areas of growth and development. Over the last five years she has focused her energy on becoming a grandmother and embracing all the opportunities for learning that journey has brought. Her unique perspective and nurturing spirit are a gift to all who know her and to all with whom she shares her time.

Orli Milligan

Orli is the original 'mindful kid'. Since before she was conceived, she has been in communication

energetically with her family. She learned to meditate in the womb, and practiced each day as an infant, toddler, and now as a young girl you will often hear her asking her mother to be quiet as she 'does her visualization.' She is a highly sensitive being and came into the world with all the wonderful gifts that life entails. Orli enjoys learning and teaching with her mother, Heather. Their agreement to bring this work into the world together is extremely strong and they are both passionate supporters of one another. All the Mindful Kids tools get tested and approved first by Orli.

Mindful Kids is a 501 c 3 non-profit organization based in Austin, TX.
