Ammi is a mindfulness adventure series that started in print at Root and Star magazine and is now available online every other month at mindful.org. Ammi is a wise and gentle child who leads the way as we explore ourselves and one another through the natural world. Each story uses guided imagery to inspire inner connection and support emotional regulation. These simple meditations recognize the importance of imagination as a foundation for conscious creation in the world. They bridge the physical, the energetic, the emotional and all the spaces in between. Whether in the home or classroom, you can engage in these special practices with children of all ages. Read them aloud together, listen to the guided meditation, and welcome the time to process and integrate the practice.

You Get to Choose
From Picket Fences: "Heather sits down with Naomi Marquez and Mandi Benecke to tell her story of how she became an author of children’s books. “If emotions are like the weather, then crying is like the rain.” Heather provides amazing insight and tools for mindful parenting and how to have meaningful, productive conversations with others about our emotions. Stay tuned to the end of the show where Heather walks us through how to play a game called “Weather Reports” with our kids to check in and process emotions mindfully."
From The Pretty Truth: "We interview Heather Hawk Feinberg, a mother, counselor, writer, music maker, educator, and spiritual guide. She founded mindfulkidscommunity.org and has recently published a children's book called Crying Is Like The Rain. In our interview, we discuss what it means to feel feelings despite how it was taught in our own homes and ways to talk to our kids about feelings, too."
From Be Where How: "We have been inspired by Heather & her work all year as we are separately working to build an outreach curriculum teaching kids mindfulness & meditation. In this episode, Heather covers the importance of creating and facilitating from that same imaginative, intuitive quality possessed by the children she works with. We discuss the usefulness of nature imagery via her book title “Crying is Like the Rain” and how (slowly!) society is starting to shift towards embracing more contemplative qualities."
